Our weekly Sunday dance is 8:30-10:30pm following the lessons and is open to everyone! Back to top Congratulations to HSDS's Jerry Foote In carrying on the dreams of Frankie Manning to have everyone in the world doing the lindy hop, the Frankie Manning Foundation announced the following winners of the Ambassador Scholarship 2011. These people will be going to Herrang Dance Camp this summer:
International Ambassadors:
- Denise Serpa and Luiz Claudio Martins, Rio de Janiero, Brazil
Ambassadors to the African-American Community:
- Jerry Foote - Houston TX
- Jamin Jackson - Tulsa OK
The Frankie Manning Lindy Hop Legacy Fund, which came into being during the planning stages of the Frankie Manning's 95th Birthday Festival, is offering its first Scholarship to Herrang Dance Camp in Sweden this Summer.
The scholarships are intended to empower exceptional students of Lindy Hop who come from communities that have little or no exposure to Lindy Hop so that they may take what they learn back to their community of origin to help the spread of Lindy Hop.

 Dallas-DSDS is having a workshop with Mikey Pedroza and Nikki Marvin June 3-5th. The workshop will offer both Beginner & Intermediate tracks and will cover Lindy hop and Charleston. Additionally there will be an instructors choice advanced class offered. More details coming soon.
Austin-The Engine Room-Live jazz music from the '20s-'40s era by some of Austin's best musicians. There's space to dance, play ping pong, foosball, or just hang out and listen to the awesome music in a cozy community center. BYOB and bring some tips for the band!

June's elective at HSDS is the Trankey Do! What's that you say?? Don't know what the Trankey Do is? Come out on Sundays at 7:30pm in June to learn this classic jazz dance choreography from the 1940s. You'll learn classic jazz steps like the "Mess Around", "Cake Walk" and "Fall Off the Log" and have a great time putting them all together and dancing this group line dance at the conclusion of the class.
