HSDS Happenings!All HSDS classes are every Sunday at the Melody Club. Click here to view our weekly class schedule. We offer lessons for beginner to advanced dancers. No partner necessary! Our weekly Sunday dance is 8:30-10:30pm following the lessons and is open to everyone! Back to top HSDS Board Nominations HSDS is taking nominations for our Board of Directors. This group of seven elected members is responsible for bringing you great events like our annual workshop Lindyfest, weekend workshops, Harvest Moon Ball, as well as shaping our regular classes and dances. The Houston Swing Dance Society is an organization of dedicated individuals who have a common appreciation and love of swing dancing and the Swing Dance Era. We are proud to be a part of the local arts community that makes Houston a richer place to live and visit.
Since its inception HSDS has been governed by a board of directors whose members are actively involved in all aspects of the organization. All day-to-day operations of HSDS are under the supervision of a seven member Board of Directors who have been elected in the past two years.
If you are a current HSDS member who would like to contribute to the future of HSDS please contact us to be added to the ballot. There are four open Board Member seats that we are looking to fill this year! It's featuring ALL TEXAS INSTRUCTORS: Brian Eley, Shannon Jabczynski, Stephen Jean, Joanna Lucero, Maggie Martin, and Josue Romero!!  Austin, TX - Austin Lindy Exchange - October 18-20th, 2011. Austin is home to one of the best lindy exchanges in the world. Ever. We have a thriving dance scene with lindy hop, blues, balboa and shag. We have amazingly talented djs and even more talented musicians. We have a bunch of fun activities and sites to see.
 Austin, TX, Lonestar Championships - January 12-15th, 2012. Lone Star Championships is a competition weekend dedicated to social dancing with a party atmosphere. All of the contests are social dance competitions. No stress on your part, no need to prepare a routine, just come enjoy the weekend. Spontaneous, creative, amazing.
